Outlander Stitch Along – July – Map of Scotland

Our July block is a fun one, and it’s not as challenging as it looks. Again, we are working with an outline or backstitch, nothing fancy. I used two strands for the place names, but I tested a piece with one strand of floss, and it worked a little easier, so use your preference there.

    Hi Daisy,
I’m just about to send you 2 more photos of my blocks and I wanted to download the blocks that I haven’t done. There’s a wee mistakes on your map of Scotland that I thought I maybe should point out to you although only a Scot or someone who knows Scotland well will notice them so you really don’t need to do anything about it. I just thought I’d better tell you in case you get other comments. If you’re looking at the map Culloden is actually on the other side of Inverness and slightly between where you have Lallybroch and Inverness. I think that Ardsmuir is slightly towards Aberdeen and down from Culloden too but that’s only because it’s sort of based on Ruthven Barracks. Ruthven is a real place like Culloden but Ardsmuir isn’t so you don’t need to bother about that.

Ack! I have to fix Culloden, then. I did put a disclaimer on the pattern but I’ll have to look into fixing that part.

Sorry to give you more work. I just thought that I’d better let you know. It’s not the end of the world.
