Celebrate Quilting Podcasts

This month marks the two year anniversary of Sandy’s podcast, Quilting…For the Rest of Us. To help her celebrate, several of the other quilting podcasters are linking up for a series of giveaways to show how much we appreciate all of you who listen to us ramble about our quilting adventures.

I’m offering two spools of YLI monofilament thread in the smoke color. As you may know, it’s a great thread for many types of quilting, including art quilting, and stitching in the ditch around applique. Also, two Fat Quarters. One in green, and one in a spring print.

In order to have a chance to win this thread (3,000 yards of it) and the FQs, please leave a comment below telling me where/how  you usually listen to quilty podcasts. I love hearing all the odd places people have taken my voice. I listen to podcasts while doing dishes, driving, exercising, shopping.. everywhere you can imagine. But it’s absolutely essential that I have one to listen to anytime I have to clean my kitchen. I simply can’t wash a single dish without someone entertaining me. Dishes are just the worst.. lol

Don’t forget to go to Sandy’s blog and check out all the other podcaster hosted giveaways this week!

Happy Treadling!

  1. I listen in bed as my wind down time before sleep. I also listen in my car as I am currently driving a lot of miles to visit my elderly parents . Love your singing in the beginning. Normally I hate music in quilting podcasts but your voice is amazing.

  2. Dishes my friend…. podcasts are a MUST in the kitchen while doing dishes. With you all the way. Also listen while I walk to and from school. Like Ellie I also listen while falling asleep but never to a quilting podcast – only choose podcasts in which I do not need/want to remember what I’ve heard. So glad you are a part of our community! :)

  3. Hey Daisy! Thanks for the giveaway :) Happy podcastaversary Sandy!!!! So, I listen to you and the other podcasters in my car. I have a long commute (usually around 45 minutes) and I love listening to my podcasty friends during the drive :) TGIF!

  4. I normally listen to my podcasts in the car on the way to and from work, I guess I should just say whenever I am in the car. lol! I love listening to them, they inspire me. Thanks for podcasting and hosting a giveaway.

  5. Don’t know how to listen to them any other way than on the laptop.
Love the fat quarters…where oh where did you get the green one. :)

  6. Actually, I think I have only ever listened to a podcast once. The only place it works for me to listen is in the basement where our computer is, and I can’t get much done down there while I listen!

  7. Lately I’ve been listening to the podcasts when my pregnancy induced insomnia hits around 1am! That way I still get my crafty fix even if I’m too tired to do any sewing myself during the day. I also listen when I can’t stand to hear my daughters cartoons anymore!

  8. I listen at work too. I don’t think I could get through a day without my podcasts to listen to.

  9. I listen your podcasts during my daily commute to work which means you may be traveling with me through three tunnels! If I win your giveaway, please include tips for quilting with monofilament thread. Thus far what I’m best at is having it break on me.

  10. Sadly, I can’t listen to podcasts because out here in the country, our Internet connection is too slow. I’d like to know how your listener Tami does it!

  11. With a preschooler running around, the only place I’m able to listen away is in my crafty studio – usually when he’s at preschool :)

  12. I typically listen to my podcasts for the first time while I’m sewing or doing homework (I’m a freshman in high school). Then I listen to them again while falling asleep ( the voices are so soothing!)

  13. Quilt podcasts make my work commute bearable. Actually anytime I am in the car by myself I have a podcast on. I am lost with them on. Also when I clean house.

  14. I listen to you when I’m at work! I am a housekeeping manager and I inspect rooms for hours and frankly it can be pretty boring – except when I’m listening to you and all the other podcasters. You keep me sane – thank you:)

  15. I listen while at work. I sit at a desk 5 days a week doing medical billing. It can be very tedious. Listening to a quilt podcast helps me focus. I know, it sounds strange, but if I am not listening to my favorite podcasts, my mind would be wondering on
    hundreds of other things instead!

  16. Podcasts are entertaining and educational. Love listening while I work, cleaning, yard work, while walking to the dog, sewing, on trips. Thanks.

  17. I do not know how to listen to podcasts. I don’t have an mp3 player or a smartphone. Can I listen via my PC? or are they on the radio? I, too, need to listen to something when I do household chores. We have a great local talk radio station that covers all of our local issues.

  18. I listen to podcasts in the car during my hour long commute. It makes the time fly by. I also listen when I sew, but I often have to rewind if I’m concentrating too hard on the sewing. Thanks for the giveaway!

  19. Everywhere! I’ll try to list some unique ones: while scooping doggie doo doo, feeding chickens, gathering eggs, falling asleep, during dog agility trials (when it’s not hubbies turn). Thx for the giveaway and supporting Sandy; love you both.
