I’m starting back on the walking for exercise. I love walking around the lake, it is so pleasant, and today wasn’t hotter than deep fried hell yet, as I went out at 8 a.m.
Excuse my little rant in this episode, but sometimes you just have to let it all out. It’s possible I overacted and read way more into the situation, but it was just one more thing adding to my feeling of not fitting in. I’m better off sewing with my online friends, the google hangout was so fun. I don’t like machine snobs, and if they don’t like my loud machine, I am better off at home.
Here’s that pic of my mom’s Singer that I promised. This machine sounds funny but sews great! It’s heavier than it looks, but the big handle makes it easy to carry. I have made many quilts with this machine. I am NOT a machine snob. If it has a needle that goes up and down, and sews a nice straight stitch.. I can do magic with it.
I finished all my blocks for the string quilt.. still ruminating on the name, thank you for all the suggestions, I appreciate the input! I will let you guys know when I figure it out. I would love to hear your thoughts on borders for this quilt. While I love a borderless quilt, I feel like this one may need something.. I liked Katie’s suggestion of a monochromatic border, and then another colourful one to finish it off. What I am stuck on is what type of piecing to do there.. Crumbs would take for flippin-ever! Perhaps a piano key border? Something that will compliment all those lines in the strings. Let me know what you think in the comments below.
