Outlander Stitch Along – March Bonus Block 2 – Sassenach

If you’re an Outlander fan (atic) this word needs no explanation. I tried to find a great quote using it, but when I used the “find” feature on my Nook, it looked at me as if to say, “Seriously, all of these?” ๐Ÿ™‚

So, here’s one I like. Please feel free to share one you like in the comments below. Chapter or page numbers are helpful.

The following quote is taken from Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, Chapter 16 One Fine Day (c) 1991 by Diana Gabaldon. All rights reserved.

He put his arm back over his eyes and stretched his head back, showing the place where the dark stubble of his sprouting beard stopped abruptly, just below the jaw.

“Straight up, just under the breastbone,” he advised. “Quick and neat, though it takes a bit of strength. The throat-cutting’s easier, but it’s verra messy.”

I bent to pick up the dirk.

“Serve you right if I did,” I remarked. “Cocky bastard.”

The grin visible beneath the crook of his arm widened still further.

I stopped, dirk still in my hand.

“I’ll die a happy man.”

I just found you yesterday. I am so in love with reading the Outlander books. I have read all of them twice and some parts 3-4 times.
Another love is hand work and then making quilts. I have all the Dr Who blocks done but not made into a quilt yet. Several great grandchildren quilts have occupied my time the last three years.
So thank you for these Outlander blocks they are outstanding.
